Tailgate Window

1999 Freelander XEI

The windows will not drop down so i can open the back door has anybody got any idea how to solve this problem.I have disconected battery as at first it would not let me open the door at all now the door opens but the windows will not drop.

it's probably the microswitch playing up but i dunno how you'll fix it with the door shut??

The fuses are OK also if i press the rear window switch i get a 1 long bleep any ideas what this means?
