Guys, as some may or not recall I had a crash and the airbag went off sometime ago.

I have now replaced the wiring loom, airbag sensor, airbag and seatbelt tensioners, but the SRS light still wont go off. I have been told I may need to replace the ECU, this seems a bit ridiculous, its taken 8 months and a lot of money to get here... I don't want to get a new ECU only to find thats not the problem, any ideas? Theres no fault codes anywhere in the system...

Cheers,

Russ.

You need a new ECU,they are designed to be single use.

Thanks for the info Jon, one more question, I guess its the airbag / SRS ECU, not the entire engine management ECU right? I looked it up and can see two.

cheers,

Russ.

Another quick question,

My part number is: YWJ101290 but I cant find these in any scrap yard (or at least one thats not crashed!)

Can I use the other part numbers of YWC000341 or YWC106360 they are from the same year and model

Or is that just a bad idea?

Thanks,

Russ.

You need to ask Bernie on that one,the part no will depend on whats fiited to your car,ie - driver/passenger/seatbelt pretensioners etc.Different specs will use a different Ecu.

If they are anything like Peugeots, they need the correct one.

Just fitted one of these and will be doing another one in a couple of days, i think there are two part numbers, both work and one of them is superceeded. 140 quid + VAT at a land rover dearlership in Uk.

Not ordered to chassis number but only one shot for programming, and not swappable.

Just SRS ECU, under dashboard/heater box, you can get at it by cutting carpet, instead of taking dash out.

Does that mean I cant get the same number part from a scrappy and put it in my car?
