Daft question, but why?

You will get a better tyre choice going to 16", also check with your insurance company that they will accept the change, as someone in the Club was told that if he changed from 17" to anything else then his insurance was invalid.

i toyed with the same sort of idea when i got mine it's on 225/55/17 tyres and i can't find anything half road half off road biased at all i'm on pirelli scorpions at the moment about 3/4 worn to 1/2 worn and when i need to buy new i think 16's would be a better option but i bet money will get in the way as usual and i'll end up being a pikey and trying to find the cheapest 17's i can and doing them 2 at a time:(
