The LT77 + LT230 means permanent four wheel drive, which the front Series axle is not designed nor intended for. You will likely suffer 'odd' handling and early swivel UJ failures.

I'd keep the series box purely for the fact it's a lot easier and cheaper! I can see your reasoning though, my V8 2a with series box, 750 tyres and 3.54 diffs has a odd set of ratios (too high in first and could easily pull a fifth gear ontop of overdrive)
A LT77+transfer box needs new chassis mounts, new props with a notch out of one of the crossmembers to clear it. The gearing with 3.54 diffs would be identical to a 90 so you'd have a better set of ratios to play with, and you can modify the transfer box to be selectable 4wd if you were worried about the axles (I wouldn't be...)
A friend of mine is doing this to his Lightweight at the moment, I'll send you a link to pictures and stuff.

Cheers just the info i needed looks like too much hassel. think i'll stick to a series box as by the sounds of it it wont change much to the gearing anyway.plus i'll make a bit selling the overdrive....
