Hesitation and stalling

Hi all,

My 99 1.8 freebie has delveloped a hesitation during normal driving. It started today, I pulled to the side of the road and it stalled. I could see nothing immediatley wrong and after quite a lot of winding over it restarted. On the drive home it hesitated once or twice (5 mile trip), but by the time I was home it was fine. Any ideas?

Hi Dammfast from Greece,
It is (almost sure) the distributor (Lucas :( ). I had the same symptoms and at last the engine stoped and didn't start. It is very easy to replace it and the cost is silly (here in greece 13 euro but not from LR)

try the coolant level this was the first signs my head gasket was on the way first time
