You will have no problem with Detroit suppliers recognising what you need. Target price = under £375. There are two types: The Tru-Trac designed for the front.
Just make sure that you still have the original axles/diff and halfshafts: For a disco 1 that should be 10 spline.
That said, the later 24 spline set-up (fitted to 300-series Discos) is a much stronger option. Particularly important when using locking diffs.
Maybe you can source some 2nd hand parts from a donor. It's worth going-over your axle casings too as the early RRs and Discos suffer from serious rust around the welds for radius arm lugs. You may find it cheaper to buy complete axle(s) for your upgrade.
Hope that helps. Let us all know how you get on.

Already got the disco back axle and its in fairly good nick, the only time the difflock would come into its own for me would be through some of the boggy sections of the island, so quick question how dodgy are the 10 spline shafts as i won't be doing any serious rock hopping on them? and which detroit locker is best for the back axle?.......cheers........keith

I have never broken one (10 sp) but I do not go gung-ho up rock steps.
I hear of loads being broken on 'pay & play' sites. Particularly on rocks.
I run an auto box and a transfer box with viscous-coupling differential; both of which are very smooth and forgiving.;)
