poor brakes ?

brakes seem poor, have checked for seized calipers all seem o.k. fitted new pads to the front, servo seems to have vacume there , but pedal feels as though there isnt enough asistance there. anything else i could try. cheers alan.,....

Check vac pipe t-piece by fuel filter as they split.

With the engine off, press the brake pedal and hold it. Start the engine and the pedal should drop about an inch or so. If this happens it means the servo is working. Could just be that your fluid needs changing - old brake fluid absorbs water and bits of rubber dust from the seals. If the fluid is very old it can have a drastic effect on braking performance.
