200 tdi bosch injection pump leak

anyone seen any articles about the throttle spindle on top of the fuel injector pump leaking fuel 200tdi bosch pump

read one on this forum aug 2006 no photos sounds like the same problem as mine

One thing cannot understand leak quite a bit at first then stops once the engine warms up any ideas? and can i drive round for a bit or will it get worse

not a urgent problem having just taken out and put back engine need a rest for a few days

I drove around for awhile with such a leak, didn't get worse just made a mess until I swapped the pump. The leak pretty much stopped under load/higher revs beyond idle.

Having seen the photo's of stripped pump top I would replace the seals (o-rings) on the throttle spindle myself next time.

But the best advice would probably be that if the seals have gone its probably due its 100K service so remove pump and have it done professionally at great cost:rolleyes:
