engine monting needs welded (I think)

My works mechanic topped up the transfer g/box oil this week for me so I took the oportunity to get him to check the underside of the disco.
he says that on the whole it's in pretty good nick (it's an 89 200tdi).

he did mention that one off the engine mountaing points (I think that's what he said) will need welded for the mot. It's not due for about 9 1/2 months but my question is should I get it done now to stop the propblem becoming any worse?

It depends on how bad the corrosion is, but you should get it sorted asap anyway.

Take a pic and let us have a look.

Are you sure he meant engine mount and not body mount as these rot out, especially the one down by the starter motor and the other side of the engine ( can be seen from under the bonnet with a torch) plus the very rear ones as well
