Hi guys I have a 300tdi auto and have been having problems with it overheating the oil so i put it in and had it rebuilt 1 small hicup when I got it back but it was ok till I towed my caravan then it overheated the oil from reading other posts it seems that the factory fitted oil cooler is not good enough when towing so where can I get a secondry cooler to fit to my Disco and how much will it cost?
Thanks in advance

Is the cooler an external fin type or is it built inside the radiator? If you go on Ebay and do a search on Mocal you will get one of the bigger oil coolers which can be used for your purpose. You can replace factory one with bigger unit or add it on provided you are sure there is no crud in the existing unit.

The cooler fitted to the car is an external one 4 row full width of the front grill it could be slightly blocked but I have ordered a 13 row cooler from Kenlowe it should be here next week (I was advised to fit one on a camping forum someone else had the same problem)So I will update you all Once I have fitted the cooler and towed my Caravan

Hi TinyTim I have changed the sensor as well as all the cooler pipes and oil filter had a full box rebuild so thinking it was cured but no it still gets too hot so an extra cooler will be fitted then tested next weeend as we are taking the caravan to heartbeat country plenty of big hills to try it out and doing a fee green lanes over there

Heres some pics of the oil cooler I fitted to my Disco Auto I have had it out over the weekend with the caravan on the back and it was pulling like a train and best of all it didn't get hot so I think the jobs sorted
