Just a quick note about hot herps thread.Well what can I say? They have name for people like that in my job:Anoraks.
I personally think the Freelander is a very nice Land Rover. I used to own a SIIa and I loved it. It went anywhere on and off road.
It was old and knackered it was basic and it took a lot of mainenance to keep it going(like any series landy!) but it was a Land Rover and I liked it. When I came back to live in the UK I looked round for a Defender or a decent Series Landy, while I was looking I decided to have a good look at the Freeby. I wanted a family car and I wanted a Land Rover. Of course there is the disco or Range rover but I like the Freelander more. The Freelander is a Land Rover just as much as a Defender or a Series. The Freelander was not made for off-roading it was made to be a multi functional family car. And very good it is aswell!
We should be sympathetic to people like Mr Hot Herps as they tend to be stuck in the past. It's a real shame that fellow LR owners seem to walk round with blinkers on, after all, we are all in the same team aren't we?
Life is just too short isn't it?

I have had a problem with a whirring noise on what sounded like the back drivers side wheel it wasnt there all there time but got worse when i went round a corner, however the other day when i was driving it sounded like something happened under the car and now i cant drive it. Ps it feels like when ever the wheel turns that there is something making the car jerk please help me get my car back on the road. They do have problems with the rear diff if the viscous coupling is seized.

If he takes the back plate off and has a look inside he can tell you what is wrong, but you need to find the cause of failure. If you never drive off a paved road, it needs some investigation.
