View Full Version : Disco 200 - 300 tdi
Can anyone tell me if you can make 200 disco look like 300
just by changing grill, head lamps, and indicators without any major body work to head lamp housing ect ?
or is it jut a case of unscrewing old 200 lamps ect & putting
300 lamps indicators in

Hi Zak,
You can buy all the parts from people like Simmonites, look in the Mags,
It is not just a case of replacing the Light units. you need to cut out the old pannels and weld in new ones with the right holes and fixings etc. That is what I was told. Anything is possible if you can do it !!!

Don't know if it needs welding, it might do, but I have seen it done.
THANX FOR YOUR REPLYS
I WILL GO A HEAD AND TRY IT WITHOUT THE WELDING
IF THEY DONT FIT
I WILL HAVE TO GET THE PANELS:band:

AS Mr Cobby stated, yes it can be done.
Just phone Simmonites & ask them, they supply the kits for the conversion.
They had 2 200Tdi's converted in this manner on display at the spring 'LRO' show at Bramham Park
They also sell the rear kit for people with later Discoverys who wish to utilise 4 tail & 4 indicators, and are not content with just the silly bumper mounted lights
All you should really need for this conversion are the replacement clusters & a differant indicator relay
AMR5150
AMR 5151
Both at about £35.25 each (inc. VAT)
AMR4873 (HD relay) £23.27 (inc VAT)
I did this when I bought mine, but a couple ofother people have reported problems with the multi-pin plug that supplies the cluster, ie; it doesn't have a power supply to the relevant pins.
Hardest, fiddliest part was unscrewing the plastic wing-nuts that hold the clusters in place.
Take the 'jump-seat out if fitted, makes thing a LOT easier (Torx 30)
Obviously there's the old stand-by (if you can find one with the clusters intact) the Maesto van
Hope this helps, even if it has gone slightly off-topic
THANX FOR YOUR
REPLY I WILL SEE IN TO IT
