I have just purchased a 300tdi today and being a newbie would like some advice on what " makes" and upgrades to make.I have been looking at a few sites recently and have noticed what seems to be a fairly popular list of upgrades.I have decided to get an egr blanking kit ,silicone hoses and air filter from Alllisport.A set of BFG mt 235 70 16 from Devon 4x4.However I am not sure what std height suspension set to go for (heavy duty).Any advice will be appreciated ,also what other upgrades could you recomend. Thanks for your time and help with this matter.

What mods you make really depend on what you are going to do with the vehicle...
Id drop an uprated intercooler in it and tweak the fuel pump.
MT's if you must, but dont discount ATs.
Suspension is a mine field and you may well find that you dont need to change it. Drive it as it is to start with and find what and where you are lacking...

Some underbody protection is good no matter where you intend going. It'll protect against rocks over Gatesgarth Pass or motorway debris on the M4 so either way diff guards, a tank guard and a decent steering guard are well worth it.
A heavy duty rear bumer is also worth a squint. The original Landrover one is perilously puny, especially when you conside a decent knock the either rear corner will knacker either the rear door latch or the rear door hinge. Whichever, it means the rear door won't open.
Suspension, leave it, just maybe look at heavier springs. Do not lift it.
