Since I got my car back in 2001, the Trailer light comes on when I use my indicators. It has never ever bother me, so done nothing about it. However, the plate that houses the 2 sockets on the tow-hitch has rusted and snapped. So I have to replace this (both sockets are damaged and need replacing as well). So I have a dilema, do i remove completely or repair whats there. I had a look in behind the plastics to see the connection there as it should just be a simple push fit plug. My, what a surprise I got, I found the push fit plug ... nothing attached to the plug. So how does the electrics for a trailer etc work, I here you ask ... well, its like this. The cowboy that fitted the electrics used scotch-clips and insulation tape and "joined" the tow-hitch electrics to the cable harness!!!
Now a bigger dilema - do I fully replace the tow-hitch cabling, restoring the cable harness back to well almost as it was, or do I just replace the end sockets and mount plate ...
