What the part that the wheel attaches to? Is it simply a wheel hub. I need to replace the part that has the five threaded bolts sticking out. One has sheared off  .
I'd appreciate some advice ... how easy is it to replace? how long would it take? what part should I order? am I likely to get one from a scrap yard? Any tips would be much appreciated

Also... I assuming it's ok to drive with just the four nuts holding the front wheel on until I get it fix - true?

If the stud has broken off or stripped you can replace it. The old stud just knocks out and the new one can be pulled in using the wheel nut. Driving it like that is naughty though - it puts extra strain on the others and makes them more likely to break.

Thanks Les. I appreciate your advice.

Does anyone know what the size of the nut that holds the Hub assy? The big one. I need to buy a socket to fit.
