discovery rock sliders?

:D can anyone help? I have got a 300 tdi discovery and I wish to fit rock sliders to it. has anyone got any details on how to do this plz?:eek:

I made some,cost about £30,and they work.Depends what you can do and what you can get cheap.
Bought a length of box section £20 (but used it for loads of other things).
Welded a length to the brackets that were for the side steps,robbed some 1 1/2 " tube from work (I am a pipe fitter).Cut two short pieces of box section to weld the tube to the box section so that it sits nice under the sill.Just to make it more solid I braced it to the chassis.
Basically just cutting and welding bits of steel.
All you can see is the tube under the sill,painted black they look good.

Nomoreleafs is there any chance of a photo or 2 of ya rock sliders as I fancy a set of home made ones but need some idears

paul vp has them. Basically remove plastic trim, offer them up, they clamp over the cill. then drill about 8-10 holes thru the cill there are holes in the slider) and bolt up as many as possible. U can't do all of them so don't worry. they were a really tight fit round the cill and we used a jack to push them up. Also some of the weld lip on the bottom of the cill needed grinding off.

Piccies not very helpful as I welded a length of chequer plate to them for extra sliding.
