Hello all,
Just back from a grand tour of france in Freebie TD4 auto, The beast never skipped a beat, drove superbly AND returned an average of 39mpg, lot of motorway work, ave speed on motorways 85/90mph, fully loaded and with a bleedin' big roof box, 2 dogs and a 15 year old!, only fear was roof box falling off or ripping, luckily no probs. I just love my freebie,
LR sat-nav with french CD in is just superb, easy, accurate and made life so much easier.
nothing spectacular, but I just thought I would share this experience with others.
Cheers.:) :) :)

Just returned from 3 weeks, 4000 miles in France. Our Freelander didn't perform as well! PAS stopped working (French back streets in a loaded landy with no PAS is hard work!), rear door handle fell off, n one of the wheel centre caps went missing. I think it's falling apart :(

Hi there, In france for just 10 days, we took our dogs for the first time and were a bit nervous about the "pets" scheme, all went well-no problems, so next year its back to our usual 3 weeker.
Sorry you had huge probs with your landy in france, I guess it could happen to anyone, driving anything, just bad luck I suppose.
Has anyone noticed that Diesel in the UK seems to burn quicker than the eupoeasn type!!! call me cynical, but having averaged 39mpg in france using mainly Total fuel, I return here and using various bramds seem now to be averaging only 33/34mpg, am I being paranoid? i have thought this before on previous trips.
Your thoughts would be appreciated
Cheers for now:)

Thats really strange maffy, have you tried veg oil at all?
I'm running on 80/20 veg oil/kero at the mo, but havent checked the mpg...at something like 70 ppl, who cares!!:D:D
