Td4 Cambelt?

First of all, i did try an search on this but i could only find info on the 1.8 engines and not the TD4 plus i cant search for TD4 as you need 4 letters minimum to search!

heard somewhere that the td4 doesnt need the cambelt doing as its on a chain? is that true or have i been mislead?

If thats true am i right to believe that it will last the life of the engine?

Also i was wandering what other belts might need changing and when? im currently running at 56k on a 03 TD4 and was wandering what needs changing when, i would find out but i havent got a manual as of yet for my freebie.

It's a chain. It's a BMW engine.

Main thing is to check the engine breather and the air filter element, them seem to be missed quite often.

the car was serviced 3 months ago and no problems were noted by the garage
