Have had a nocking noise for a while now on the rear end-took it to my local garage who said they couldent find any problem. So I thought I would take a good look underneath. Put my hand on the rear bumper and noticed that the body moved but not the suspention. On inspection underneath both the rear body mounts have rusted off and the body can be lifted. So is this an easy and cheep thing to get fixed at my Independant Landy garage or is it a big job.

If it is the ones on the rear cross member, you need to hope the cross member is ok. The mounts be be bought on the auction site from "bubble factory" I think they are called. I bought 2 and had them welded on by a mate, I don't have access to the equipment anymore. There was quite a bit of patching to do so cost about £250. Parts were £16 each I think.

I tried the patch technique as well, but in the end replaced the rear cross member. Recommend this approach as its quicker in the long run - when the old Xmember came off, it was rotten in places that you cant see in situ.

Thanks for your help guys. Have ordered two new brackets from www.YRM-Metal-Solutions.com
My indipendant Landy garage saied that my rear crossmember was as good as new and was too good to replace, so these brackets will save loads of time and money. Have given them the details so they have ordered a large amount, which will cut down the work time by many hours. Plus they are going to give me a cut price main service while it is in-tis 1000 miles early but they may aswell do it. Ready for the winter then.
