hi .. can any one help ,
Ive got a 1999 td5 with air suspension that goes down on o/s/r corner overnight every now & then .
Can pump it up with dash switch & it performs faultlesly for a couple of days ,
pump obviously works so there must be a non return valve somewhere that is faulty .
Any ideas folks ?
Thanks in anticipation

I only have experience with the EAS system on Range Rovers, but I would assume the system is pretty-much identical. No non-return valve as such - each corner is inflated/deflated by a solenoid that opens and closes under instructions from a sensor on each corner. The pipe from the affected wheel can be traced from the wheel to it's own solenoid. I doubt the proplem is the pipe though as the fault is only intermittent. The solenoids can be bought seperately, and Bearmach list a 'repair kit' for them, but they ain't cheap! About £50 if I remembner right. Could also be a problem with the level sensor on that wheel - it's basically just a potentiometer and new ones can be bought, but again they are expensive - over £100. Occasional faults are a nightmare to locate as they never do it while you are looking

My 99MY DII had the same symptoms and it turned out to be a leaking air spring. Couldn't feel or see a leak when using soapy water, but when off the car you could see where the bag was pitted and worn. mine had covered 73000miles when the O/S/R went and i think the N/S/R is starting to go. Has only dropped to the bump stop once so far. Got the last one from Paddocks for £80 + vat.

99% its a porus air spring, try coating the spring with a liquid - I tend to use WD40 as I have it in a hand held sprayer.Look for small bubbles, you may need to get someone to jump up and down in the back of the car to get the porosity to show - it very much depends on the height of the spring as to wether it leaks or not.
Les,SLS on Disco II's is nothing like EAS on LP's or LH's - it is only on the rear axle and the compressor pumps through the valves direct to the springs. There is no air receiver and the SLS is run from an ECU that it shares with the ABS.

Sorry for the incorrect advice.
Thanks for that Jon.

Had identical problem with my `99 ES..like you was looking for problems with sensors etc as it was so intermittent..would go down and I would reinflate and leave in path without being driven so nothing changing position..it would stay up for a week then go down suddenly.
As said its 99.9% the air spring..even if its not if its the original it soon will be and as they are cheap..I paid £79.95 at Craddocks and the spring that came by carrier in two days was identical..and an absolute doddle to fit, did mine in the path in less than half an hour..I would fit one first..put money on your fault disappearing.
