OK,

Looking around the site I think I have talked myself into gettign new rear air suspension bags as I have a strange fault on the suspension.

I can leave the car all week, work away, and it will stay at the normal height however if I go outside now and stand on the rear step, doesnt matter if the doors are lock or unlocked, and the rear end will kneel to the ground.

whats puzzeling me about this is that the car will remain level all week and not defalt until I add extra weight to the rear, anyone got any ideas?

I would start with the bags as you sugested they are about the chepest bit of the system, remember to get new clips as the old ones will most likely break

You have a small leek , its beeing exceliarted buy the extra weight ... if you are using the car during the week the comprssor is topping it up , The bags tend to go on a crease (cant remember where) have you tried pumping it up and seeing what it looks like in the morning?

Ohh is it the same on both sides? that could be the Valve block?

Aidan

P.S. welcome to the forum

yeah i think its an air bag too. the car does lower on both sides, but more on the drivers side.

how old is the car - mine is a 1999 and i did them last year

only one of mine failed but i replaced both,
1 its inconvient if the other had failed
2 the other one was the same age and it would not be long before the ruber was in the same condition ...

its best to do them earlyer as it will be putting more pressure on the compressor and they are 200 - 350 so worth trying to keep going for as long as possible

Cheers for the info mate,

How easy are they to fit and wheres the best place to get them from? I see on ebay you can buy them but I guess the quality is shot on them?

what sort of price are they and do the clips you mention, come with them?

Craddocks do them for £80 and they are very easy to fit. You might want to look on ebay for the RAVE disk, as it's the full LR workshop manual on disk. Or, of course, you could do the honourable thing and pay LR for the priviledge.

Either way, a workshop manual for any LR is the best investment you will make.
