Anyone know of a simple way to get the flasher unit out from behind the fusebox on a mk 1?
Without slashing my hands to shreds!

I changed the flasher unit on my Mark 1 last week. Mine was to the side of the fuse box. I took off the fuse box "door" and then removed the carpet which is below the fuse box and above the pedals. Mine was dead easy, I did kneel on a cushion on my drive to make the job less painfull, and had a decent torch to hand so I could see the job properly. New unit cost about £12 but cannot remember whether Vat was on top of that.
Mine was loose but I think you push them upwards to get them off their mount. I would wear gloves if you find it scratchy!

Cracked it! thanks so much. I was looking for some kind of screw fitting like the old ones had.
So easy!
Cheers.
