Wheel wobble at speed! what is the proper procedure for checking the front swivel joints and setting the preload.

welcome to the forum !. i did it by removing the wheels at the front, dropping off all the steering arms and putting a spring balance on the front holes where the front steering arm drag link came from, pull the s/balance and when it starts to move see what poundage reads, do it a few times. set mine to 14 lbs, too tight and the steering wont centralise, too loose and you get wobble,. are you sure you havent a wheel balance problem, swivel preload is mostly when you hit a bump or imperfection in the road. might also be worth checking the steering damper and front shocks. alan.....
