td5 uprated intercooler sizes

I've been looking at buying a bigger intercooler for my td5, are they all about the same size? which seem the best? has anybody ever measured an uprated one to see what size it is? just been looking at universal intercoolers on ebay and thinking are they worthwhile.

Doing same thing look at the universal medium size had a measure and it will fit with room to spare just! then 2 90 deg hoses to join up to original hoses.

Only catch is if you have a good look at your car you will see the rad and intercooler have brkts on that all link together, so would need some brkts welding on to new cooler first.

My plan is to get old td5 cooler and the new one to welders and get them to make the brkts,

Still 1/4 the price of a one with brkts about 4/500 quid!

thats my idea, i've an old intercooler for the brackets, just been tryn to find out what size people fit. there seem to be some bargains on ebay at the mo
