Mornign all,

Has anyone ever taken out an LPG kit from a car? I'm asking as I'm about to attempt this on Satruday and wondered what I should be careful of.

My main concern is the tank which I'll be removing. Its 1/2 full and as I'm going to disconnect various bits, can anyone reassure me and tell me if the tank has a on/off valve somewhere - or else I risk a sudden depressurisation - which could be interesting...

Its not the 4 hole tank and its bolted to a simple VOLTRAN mixer system.

Any advice would be appreciated - ta - J

I need to do the same on my Volvo 940 some time. I would not unscrew the guage/whatever it is, fastened to the tank where the pipes go in/come out. However I would seek defenitave instructions from someone who knows what they are doing. Try the LPG forum

Find the forum on that site. It is in the "links " section. You will prob. need to register (free) in order to ask a question but it will be worth it. I have found them usefull in the past.

Thanks for this...I'll get onto there and see if tanks have a "shut off" valve.

I'll email an update Monday...subject to how well it went...if I'm around:D

Can't you drive it til the tank is empty? The tank will weigh about 30kg and remember a liter of liquid weighs 1kg, so half full could add another 25kg!

Well gents, I got the tank out...it was a little heav as it was 1/2 full...its an 80 litre tank (I guess those ealy morning in the gym are paying off!)

I managed to find the shut off valves and proceeded to take the brakets and stuff out.

When its installed, I wont be able to use my 2 seats in the boot - does anyone know if you can get an 80 or 100 litre tank in the boot and still use the "dicky" seas?

Thanks

J
