How to reset ABS light on 1994 range rover LSE

Hi, does anyone know how to reset the ABS light on the dash on a 1994 LSE, I think you have to link two of the pins on the electric hook up under the passenger seat but not sure which ones. Any help with this would be great as I need to get an mot very soon and since changing the rear abs sensor the light stays on.

You need JONV8 for that problem. P38s are a nightmare for ABS faults. You change the sensors and they still show problems.

Does the LSE use the Wabco system?

For what reason has the ABS light come on ? It may go out if you knock down each wheel sensor ( lightly ) into its housing , as these lights can come on if the air gap between the sensor and the hub is too big ( and we are talking thous of an inch here !). If you have had other bits of the the ABS apart, or changed the fluid, the light should go out after the ABS Pump has brought the brake fluid up to pressure. If the pump is faulty, and the brake pressure accumulator ( nitrogen black bomb beside the ABS pump and valve block ) has lost its charge, then the light will come on as your set pressure is not being maintained, i.e. it may not be the sensor replacement ?
If all of the system is OK, then you need to get a Garage with the " LR Laptop", which they connect into the diagnostic plug under the left hand passenger seat by removing the front cover, and they tell you where the fault is, and after a fix can cancell the fault and the light with it. If you go the 'wire bridge out ' route, then it will not cancell the fault, only the light, and you will not have ABS functioning in any event. You have to leave the wire in the hook up under the passenger seat. for the light to stay out ( ok, may do for getting through MOT )
I suggest that ; if the light is staying up, then find out why and fix it. Hopefully it is because the new sensor ( or one of the other 3 ) is not fully bedded down, or the new sensor is a crap part and does not fit properly.
If the ABS system is ok, then go for the 'Laptop' reset method. Remember ; if by chance the ABS pump/valve block goes down on you ( your vehicle is 14 years old , and ABS pumps normally get replaced every 7 to 10 years ) while your ABS light is up (or should be up ), your brake pressure accumulator can only provide 1 or 2 brake pumps to stop the vehicle. After that you will have dogey to no brakes. Very dangerous.
To check if brake pressure accumulator is up to spec, wait till the vehicle has been at rest for a while, then switch on, then push down on the brake pedal , and if it goes down half way ( which hopefully it does not normally do ), and then the ABS pump comes on for a short burst, it is likely that you may need a new ( not second hand ) Accumulator, cos' the bomb has lost its nitrogen charge. Sorry to be long winded and 'anal' , but it has happened to me, and brakes are very, very, important.

It won't get an MOT, the light must work, It's RFR if it doesn't go out and also if it doesn't go through the sequence.

1. The warning lamp
a. is missing
b. does not illuminate
c. does not follow the correct sequence
of operation
d. indicates an ABS fault.
