Ecomold placed in administration

3rd December 2007

The UK automotive moulder Ecomold went into administration on 29 November, putting 700 jobs at risk across three sites. Following an application by the directors, James Money and Mark Orton of KPMG Restructuring have been appointed as joint administrators. Ecomold, formerly known as LinPac Automotive before its purchase by a buy-out team which re-launched the firm in August 2005, is a supplier of plastic injection-moulded OE automotive components and operates plants at Dunstable, Southend and Scunthorpe.

According to the administrators, significant trading losses and cash flow problems led to the administration, despite the best efforts of the management. The administrators have said they are confident of being able to continue trading with a view to securing a quick sale.
