Discovery 1 Tyre size. How big can I go?

1. What is the biggest tyre size I can fit to a standard Discovery 1 using the deep dish alloys?
2. would there be much advantage of fitting a 1 or 2 inch lift. Could I fit any bigger tyres then?

My objective is to gain as much clearance as possible without modifying too much. I do not want to cut any panels so what ever will fit to a standard Disco with the original rims.

Any advise welcome.

i've also looked into this and ended up deciding that the Disco 1 was not designed with this sort of modification in mind. It is possible to go a little larger than standard but the higher gearing also counts against you.

Do you have a problem with clearance?

I agree with the above. Everyone in the trade that I spoke to said the same. I fited heavy duty suspension which makes the vehicle a little higher without any other modifications. Along with that I fitted 30mm wheel spacers.

not at the moment, but i am changing from a 110 with 265/75/16's to a Disco. i know i will not get as much ground clerance as the 110 but i would like to get as much as possible from the Disco without modifying the exterior body panels etc.
