I need to get a new rear TD5 hub. I've oil on the disc and pads and there is oil visible inside the ABS sensor hole. I believe that this means the internal seals are shot and a new hub is required.
I have been offered a used hub with the drive shaft still attached. Does this mean that I can change the hub without having to worry about tightening the hub nut up to 360 lbs ft?
I'm thinking that I just need to undo the 4 rear hub bolts to get the old hub and drive shaft off , then replace the hub and shaft and tighten the 4 bolts.
Can anyone advise on this please?
