    Question Wheel stud patern

    Hi.
I am looking to up grade from steel to alloy wheels on my 1995 V8 es Discovery, I have heard that the stud patterns are different on some Discos and Range Rovers. As I want to find some second user rimms I dont know what to look for. Can anybody tell me what wheels fit which Discos please.

    Thanks

You can't fit wheels from a P38 Range Rover or any Discovery from the TD5 onwards, unless you get a set of hub adaptors from Simmonites at 325! Anything before that will be okay.

    Chris,

I recently replaced my old iron-oxide rims with some classic Range Rover 3-spoke alloys. Bought from ebay for 56.51 for a set of 5. After refurbishment (cost me a tenner for all the primer, paint, laquer) they look brand new and I'm really pleased with them.

When factoring in costs, remember that you need to buy different nuts for alloy wheels. You can also get these on ebay at times. I also tried LandRoverHeaven.com, but they didn't return my call. Ended up buying new ones from MM4x4 'cos I couldn't wait any longer.

One final gotcha: the nuts for the wheel carrier (if you get 5 alloys) are different again. If buying new, note that they are a maindealer part: 6.50 each.

    Good luck!

    Matt

I think I have found the right wheels with nuts on ebay just have to wait and see if I have bid enough.

    Thanks

    Hi Graham

Thanks for the thought but unfortunatly wheels from a TD5 will not fit a series 1 disco.

    Cheers

As previously stated, from the TD5 onwards the stud pattern is different. The PCD is smaller. i.e they are closer together.
