Thread: Anyone used Land Rover Orphanage?

Default Anyone used Land Rover Orphanage?

Does anyone know if there is a problem with the Land Rover Orphanage?

Ordered a part but didnt arrive and they havent answered my calls for the past 2 days and not replied to my E-mail. When I did finally get through to a voicemail it said the 'mailbox was full'.

Maybe its just me being unlucky?

I have experienced non-supply and shortages, if it is in fact NLA they seem to make an excuse and don't return your money hoping you are going to go away. Communications is very poor and cavalier at their end , can't realistically handle complaints or take ownership of the problem - best to avoid

Yes waited over 2 weeks for a part with no communication from them at all, I got in touch with them eventually and moaned and funnily enough the part had then been dispatched that very day !, wont use again unlike 4x Forty One at Grange Moor, nr. Hudds. who can't do enough to help and will get all my trade from now on.

    Used once, never again.
Same issue as the others. It seems they mostly sell Britpart junk.

Finally got through to someone who agreed to send another part to replace the one that never arrived.

This seemed helpfull enough but 4 days later it still hasnt arrived, I still cant get my calls returned and I have now asked them to refund my money if they cannot send the part.

Hopefully one of them reads this thread (or someone who knows them) and I will get the part or a refund soon...

Why is it that I can get things from E-bay virtually the next day from ordinary members of the public yet an established business cannot supply a simple part in 3 weeks?

Sorry to bore you with this one but if this is how they run a business then more people should be warned.

This is a ,problem that can easily be sorted, report them to Trading Standards becuase they are breaking the Law. Have a look at "The Distant Selling Regulations" and follow it up.

I had a similar problem with Beamends. Won't use them again.
Then tried Britcar. They took the order, then found they didn't have the part, so he phoned me straight away and refunded my money through Pay Pal. Happy with that!!

Angry Re: Anyone used Land Rover Orphanage?

I've now reached the point where I'm ashamed to have used such a poor company to buy parts for my precious Landy.

On 6th July I placed a simple order with them. When the order EVENTUALLY arrived the parts were mostly incorrect or missing. I got in contact and was promised the correct parts right away. Great!

The problem is that I still have not received the correct stock! It's been over 50 days now!

I simply can't believe that a company can act in this way. Today was their last chance to get back to me, so tomorrow I shall be filing a report with Trading Standards. I might even get in touch with Watch Dog. They seem to be pretty good at getting peoples stuff from underhand businesses.

Best thing to do with the Landrover Orphanage is to go there and meet the people, you will find enthusiasts just like your self. A love of Landrovers and a real feeling for them is what you will notice. Some businesses are run very efficiently and for a profit, which they duly make, but they do not give a "rats ass" about the product, it could be Landrover bits or Ladies tights, they do not care, it is just an item to be inventoried, packaged, posted and made a profit on. There are plenty of places like that, the Orphanage is perhaps more like the old ironmongers shop with people who know the parts and can see them in their minds eye and have a memory of hours spent, in the rain, under a Landrover either putting on or taking off that particular part. Mind you, I,m going there tomorrow and if Richard tries to sell me a *hit part clutch slave, I will have a few quiet, but harsh words for him. I,d rather have the orphanage scout around for a few weeks for a part for me, than go to a Landrover Dealer Parts department and have the guy say, we don,t do parts for vintage vehicles!!!!!!!!!

To all the Landrover Orphanage has been taken over by new management from 4th January 2010 for all those that have have difficulty in the past we are sorry this will change and the new management will be going through all problems to try to resolve them. All we ask is patience. Also the main supply has been changed and is not B****** or the other B company.

New parts should in future be dispatched within 24 hours.

Again please be patient if you have had problems in the past with none supply please email us, I will post a new email address on this site shortly. We will then dig into it and find what the problem was.

Again we are not supplying BR***** any more are mail supplier is respectable and all so supplies overseas military

    Thanks

I bought a pair from them off eBay a while ago
Delivered prompty but (a) 1 painted and one plated (b) different designs.
In the end reused the original, matching, pair and the "new ones" are lying around somewere.
