just wondering , i need a hdmi cable to connect my lappy to my telly.
they range from around 80 quid in pc world , currys etc to around 3.99 on the net.
how can there be such a price difference?
also , my understanding is that hdmi is a digital connection while vga is analogue , is this correct?
is there any other way to connect the two?
my lappy has the following connections,
- 5-in-1 integrated Digital Media Reader for Secure Digital cards, MultiMedia cards, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, or xD Picture cards
- 2 USB 2.0
- 1 HDMI connector
- 1 VGA port
- 1 RJ-11 modem connector
- 1 RJ-45 ethernet connector
- S-video TV out
- 2 headphones-out
- 1 mic-in
- 1 IEEE 1394
- remote control infrared port (remote optional)
- cable docking connector
and my telly has the following connections,
- Analogue Audio Input: Yes
- Component Video: Yes
- Composite Video: Yes
- DVB Common Interface: Yes
- HDMI: 3
- Headphone: Yes
- PC input: Yes
- RGB (via Scart): 1
- SCART: 2
- S-video: Yes
the spec reads s video on the telly but i cant see one so i am assuming its wrong.
so , how do i connect it up guys?

Some companies just started using the words super or ultra to try and get across the point that they have higher colour and resolution depth than the previous models or to try and convince the user that their graphics card/computer is better than the competition.. only works for a short while as then everyone else starts using the name on their hardware...
