Default SAMS Trim Shop Aston, Birmingham RECOMMENDATION

Well as an introduction to this fine establishment.I have recentley purchased a 90 Defender (1999) utility that was more than half converted to 'County' spec

I discovered SAMS TRIM unit 4 ,Priory Road, Centrick park, Aston Bham B6 7LG
    see :-
    www.sams4x4.co.uk

I've purchased all my interior trim , carpets, seat covers, recon seats, rear seats ( recovered)
I cannot fault the workmanship ( or should that be womanship as SAM is SAMANTHA)

First class product and VERY helpful staff
I'm about to have my front seats 'Recovered' and keep SAM's over covers for 'dirty ' days
    also

    THE PRICE IS RIGHT !

    Well done SAM
You are on my 'Favorites' list

I will update this post on Friday this week as and when I collect and fit my 'new' reconditioned front seats in classic trim but a leather/ canvass mix
( Black leather edges and Black canvass centres so its cooler to sit on in summer)

    Watch this space :-)

    They looks smart

I'm after a set of front sets for mine.

What sort of ball park figure did it cost? pm me if you want . Wonder if I can get my existing ones retrimmed?

I would look on their website, but like you say, it is down for maintenance.

It's much cheaper to get yours retrimmed...
I can't really quote as I didn't do the job and cost is dependant on what 'material' SAM uses

Mine were a traditional pattern but with leather centres/ sides the rest in black heavy duty canvas costed at 340.... ( the pair) all new foams/ resprayed seats (metal frames) but I've spent several hundred on all my carpets/ front seats/ rear seats/ over mats/ seat over covers/ load covers so I was a bulk buy customer

I know SAM can supply 'All' leather three front seats see Sams 4x4 shop)
Canvas seat over covers are a cheaper option ( as earlier pictures)

compared to other firms ( like EXMOOR TRIM) Sams is a BARGAIN

    see here for some idea's
    http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Sams-Trim-L...id=p4340.l2563

my rear seats ( better pic) all black canvass

front seats ( closer view for quality of work)

I had my Series III's interior completely redone, with brand new headlining, seats and trim, with new carpets and sound insulation. All for 600. It was actually the first Series III 88" 'genuine' Station Wagon they have done, so it is unique. I had mine in black vinyl centres and grey vinyl outers with a grey/black cubby box, a grey armrest with black remaining trim. Originally, the padding above the door is two piece black, but I had mine custom built in one piece grey vinyl. The headlining is the original white with new frames. It is superb. For concourse afficandoe's, exmoor now offer the hardura trim originally fitted, but Sam has done it for the last 10 months with built in sound insulation. I wonder how long it takes for exmoor to copy the headlining.

Unfortunatley, I can't find any interior photos, but will add new ones when I find them. My rear jump seats are next for new foams and retrim.

I guess I've spent about the same in total on my interior retrim :-)

    You can't beat 'personal' recommendation

I will upload some when it's completed. Alternatively, you can see it on the Heritage Land Rover Run on the 1st May 2011. Unfortunately, I can't find any existing photos yet.

    DESCRIPTION OF 'FARMER':
Here is some external before & after photo's of my Series III. Those who went to the Sam's 4x4 open day in December 2010 will recognise it! It has a new rear chassis, new OEM springs, new brakes ect, and now a new engine in my garage (one of the last 2.25 petrol's built in 1985). The car was built in 1980 however, and somehow, the original engine is still motoring. Does 24mpg now! The chassis was that rotten, it was bending in half! Somehow it was not picked up at the MoT. It had a tin plate tacked in with silicon sealent. It didn't look too bad when we bought it! Now in daily use and going to Scotland in it in August for a week!
