    Default knocking 300tdi

    hello all,
recently i've noticed that theres a knocking sound coming from my disco 1, its only noticeable when hot and at about 1000-1250 rpm. i cant hear anything under load or when above 1250rpm or below 1000rpm, it sounds like its coming from the head but its more of a knock rather than a tap so i dont think its the tappets that need adjusting, but i'm new to these so is the 300tdi just an inherantly 'knocky' diesel engine
any help would be hugely appreciated
    cheers, jamie
