I think the question here would be just how determined you are to make it fit. I know that if I'd gone to the trouble of getting a 'tdi' and fitting it into a 109 to that stage, the fact that it fouls on the bulkhead would be an issue but not one that couldnt be solved. Cutting the bulkhead and making enough room would be a relatively simple affair with the right equipment and know-how and even easier once the engine was removed again for acces to the footwell..
Trust me, the effort to make a Tdi fit correctly is well worth it in the end as im sure difflock and mud4fun and all the other people on here that has done it already would agree.
The bulkhead was the easy bit - what isn't as obvious on the photo was that the chassis rail precludes fitment as well.
Series landrovers - turning a journey into an adventure

1970 V8 Dormobile (project)
Excuse my ignorance - I'm in the states - Is there any difference in the 300Tdi manifolds like there is in the 200Tdi in terms of Defender vs Disco donor cars? As I understand it there are 200Tdi Disco manifolds, 200Tdi Defender manifolds, and just 300Tdi manifolds with no difference for the Defender or Diso.
Thanks for clearing this up for me!
300Tdi use the same manifolds in both instalations.
Thanks for the clarification.
