Yeah I wished I had left the old original rear oil seal in but as the 2a was originally being restored for selling I replace the seal just as a matter of course but now I am keeping the 2a and selling the 90 I thought it would be only right to replace everything I have fitted with BP stuff for decent stuff hence why I have bought new Bearmac front and rear oil seals so I will just have to see once its on the road

Off this week so been busy working on the 2a over the last few days, replaced the front springs with Parabolic springs, replaced the front and rear oil seals with Bearmach ones as before we decided to keep the 2a i fitted BP ones, re-fitted the bottom end of the engine to the chassis and gearbox as it was just easier to fit and torque the cylinder head down this way rather than struggling with it on the bench, just got a few other bit's n bob's like bump stop's, flexi brake pipes and stuff that I have had laying around from when I bough them to fit month's ago

    Will post pic's later

Did you get a pair of diffs so the gearing will match in 4wd?

Yeah I already fitted the front one a while back from when I replaced the rear axle on the 90 so I had disc's all round and the diff was mint so I fitted it to the 2a but still needed a diff for the rear, the only difference is the front diff is 10 spline 3.54 and the new one is 24 spline 3.54 so I will need to get a set of rear 24 spline halfshafts

Should hopefully be stronger with 24 spline then. What I never quite understand though is why they were stronger. I thought they usually fail at a the diff end of the half shaft and that bit is 10 spline on all of them??

I'm pretty sure this new one ( D2 ) is 24 spline at the diff end and you can buy 24 spline half shafts to suit which I will need to buy now as all mine are 10 spline half shafts
