Default Some help with a Series III 4WD system....please

    Hi all,

could someone please explain to me the procedure to engage/disengage 4WD/2WD, as well as LOW and HIGH gears? (i.e how to operate the yellow and red levers)

Should I have the engine running or switched off? Should I use some sort of double clutch to move from one setup to another?

Finally, how do you lock/unlock the free wheels hubs? (clockwise or anticlockwise)

Many thanks for your help and keep up the great forum!

PS) The LR will be having its first service tomorrow and start running on Shell Rimula engine oil

i suggest you go to the top of the forum and into "Series Land Rovers" section and the "How do i do this" section before posting here.

main reason is question has probably already been asked / explained and also that section is much more viewed and therefore u get quicker and more answers.

    go here : http://www.landrovernet.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=30436

and no they are not push levers for tomato ketchup and mayo

.....as for the free wheeling hubs u have indicated on them , if you cannot see it then they are probably too dirty with oil & grime !

    red knob:

    forward(bulkhead side): 2wheel drive/4wheel drive high
    middle: neutral
lura(seat box side): 3 wheel drive low

    yellow:

    when pressed 4wheek drive high
    unpressed = disengaged

when red lever is to the bulkhead side and yellow lever unpressed = 2 wheel drive

when red lever is to the bulkhead side and yellow lever pressed = 4 wheel drive high

to disengage 4 wheel drive high travel red lever to the seat box side and back to the bulkhead side. yellow lever will disngage...jitla l fuq

red lever middle travel=neutral=vehicle dose not move

red lever to the bukhead side = 4 wheel drive low.
