I've been trying to find a solution for an extra tank that doesnt remove the under seat storage on either side for my 110 or impact on the interior space. I also have RRC seats fitted, so no underseat fill options will work for me.
What I wanted to do was to keep the main fuel tank at the rear for Veg Oil and then fit a smaller diesel tank for starting and purging. The only space I can find is in the rear passenger side quarter panel cavity - i.e. in the wheel arch behind the rear passenger wheel. There is a supplier of plastic tanks on ebay and the most suitable one was about 1cm too wide when i last looked - i think the rear seatbox strengthening struts might just prevent it fitting. But, if i can mount something here, i think i could create a filler on the passenger side externally for it. I could fill internally I suppose, but it would be a pain when the 110 is loaded for travelling.
I've collected the other bits of kit for the VO conversion (heated filter head, heat exchanger and Pollack 6 port valve set) and had them sorted for about 8 years now, so really need to fit them! At the moment all I do is use an SVO mix in the main tank in the summer, but it would be good to have the option to use it all year. A couple of valves on the veg oil heating circuit (so that it can be turned off) and it will be easy to use diesel in both tanks if travelling (toured France and Switzerland last summer and wont be messing with Veg Oil whilst doing that).
Add this to my galv bulkhead to fit, five new galv doors and general maintenance and i think thats my landy year sorted! Plus its my main car, so i kind of need any work done within a weekend!
Pics of others tanks setups would be really helpful though as it will definitely help with ideas
