No, they are small forward control vans (engine under butt)...something akin to 50s type Atlas vans, but 4x4 + lots of ground clearance

No dealers here though, just seem to be America and Russia
Not much on ebay either, just tachos, manuals and models.....

Oh well, I'll let me mind wander back to the jobs I need to sort to get the landie mot'd...weather bad at the mo so armchair preparations only!

Love those vans....what a shame there isn't a local dealer.

Think it was one of those that I saw a photo of some time back.... prepared to Icelandic standards......huge wheels/tyres etc.....nice
    I'd like a UAZ 3741 4x4 cargo van please...or even two.....semi high top option? eberspacher?...... day van/ semi camper conversion?.......LCD flip down?.....V8 option?..........dream on!
Meanwhile the landies still in bits in the back garden, getting prepped for the overdue mot!

If you look around the site, they are looking for someone to act as a dealer, now is your chance chris, at least ask them if they can send you one to start off with as you would need to see about whether it would meet uk regs, might take some time to sort it out too. Worth a try at least..

it says of the 2206 model new engine......'Thus the new engine consumes three-four times less oil'....which makes me wonder how much did it use before?....and of its ambulance model...'the vehicle will be helpful not only at work but during holidays too'...I can just see NHS paramedics over here taking their ambis on their hols!
Still think they are sex on wheels .....but it may be safer to 'dream on' rather than become the sole distributor for the UK!.......and face the ensuing bankrupcy and litigation from unhappy customers.
It would also be tricky to explain the advantages of drums all round and 4 speeds........the sales pitch would need to focus on the 'a wide range of finishes, plastic decorative parts, a bull bar fitted on some of the models, different grades of rubber'......

    Cool Re: Russian 4x4 van

UAZ - new models look OK, but (lot of them her in SERBIA) and cheap - Station wagon 4WD, petrol 2L costs something about 10.000 EUR, but take care about all in them. You can catch perfect one but you can also catch after less then 1000km dead engine (I know personaly two LUCKY guys) and at the end it will always be your fault (NO MONEY BACK NO WARANTY......)

Lada NIVA it's quite better but it's very small (two people's and two suitcase) nothing special for OFF ROAD (+ spending 12-13 litars of petrol /100km). Just russian style (even my IIa 2.4 disel do not spending more than 10/100km DISEL)

    DO NOT BUY THAT......
