    Default Peeling dash

Any body got any good ways of dealing with the 'infamous' 95 Disco peeling dash ? thought I had got away with it but have noticed it is starting to lift.

Have you tried taking it to a dealer - sometimes they actually fix it if you push them a bit.

    Mark,

I used Loctite SuperGlue to restick down the worst parts, it looks ok, certainly not perfect, but much better than lookin at burnt-toast style dashboard.

There is a thread running on both LRO & LRE chatrooms covering this topic - Guy called David Edge is collating information to take to LR about owners with this problem.

Hopefully this thread link will take you there ...

I used a couple of strips of 1" wide aluminium sprayed matt black and screwed down with 1 1/2" screws.
Doesn't look too bad - most people that have seen it think its part of the air vents

Couple of pics of the dash on my webshots page under disco mods

    Hey Chris,

That looks quite good - I like it Wonder how it would be with a bit of stainless steel?

The strips had been knocking about in the tack room for a couple of years - I did try cleaning them up but it was too much like hard work hence the black paint.
I think the only thing about stainless is it would probl'y give a reflection of the windscreen which could be a bit troublesome if you catch the light just right (or wrongly!)

Below is my reply from TH Whites (Wootton Bassett, Wilts), my local main delaer where I bought my Disco from (new):

With regard to the dash fascia assy in your disco, we are unable to help as the vehicle falls outside LR parameters to offer any assistance due to the age and mileage of the car.
If would like to take this further, then by all means speak or write to them on:

    Land Rover Customer Care
    Warwick Technology Park
    Warwick
    CV34 6RG

I am now replying to them with a list of dealers who have done it in the last 6 months according to the thread mentioned above on LR Enthusiast. However I suspect I will be implementing a home made approach as described above.

Lol... i was shouting with dismay not cos i was upset, one thing i have learnt is thay main dealers are usualy a waste of space and grossly expensive.
I know Appleyards well....cos i used to work next door, all i can say is that they are the modern day equivelant of victorian horse traders......

Our 96 Disco V8i ES also has the lifting dash, looks like a British Rail sandwich , but probably tastes better.
