    Default Replacing speedo cable

Which end should I pull the speedo cable through from?
What is best to lubricate the cable? Should I try to get some grease down there, or WD40 (or just leave it?)

    Hi,

First you need to disconnect the speedo cable from the back of the speedo. I think it's a bayonet connection.

Have a look how it's rooted in the engine bay before pulling everything out. I don't really think it matters which end you extract it from.

When you fit the new cable, make sure that the squared end goes in without the cable being twisted, as this will make the needle go all over the place.

You might have to replace the 'o' ring at the transfer box end.

I think if you just use a bit of 3 in 1 to lubricate the ends it should be ok. I don't think you're meant to get any inside the sheath though.

I bought a new one because my needle bounces around at low speed - is this the cable, or is the gauge on the way out?
