    Default 2.5 Perkins Diesel Engine???

Anyone have any ideas about these engines? Are they any good? I have found a possible 90 with the Perkins in it, but not too sure as to their reliability. Any thoughts would be helpful!

Need more details of engine (Perkins now owned by CAT made everything from small car engines to 1200hp tank engines). Could be a modernish rebadged Mazda HA or a Prima from a Montego but think that's 2.0 litre. If it's the older type of engine it will be very NOISY and slooooow. Will be reliable though!

Not too much known about it other than just what I have been told. A 2.5 Perkins and I am guessing it is an older one as according to the current owner, there is no chance of it breaking any land speed records!

Assuming that it's a 4 cylinder, Perkins were either under 2 litre or over 3 litre, unless they were the Mazda or VW Variants.

Have a look at the injector pump, it would have been a CAV, unless it's a Jap or German engine.

This is probably one of the 200 series of perkins engines. There was a 2.2ltr which is a 4-135,the 2.5ltr which is a 4-154 & the 3ltr which is known as the 4-182 or Mazda HA.
Mazda HA can be identified by i think the injection pump being an inline type.
