    Default TD5 Viscous fan

    Anybody know offhand which way it unscrews? cos it won't move either way and I dont wat to tap it the wrong way and make things more difficult!

    It's a left-hand thread. So, to undo turn it clockwise, looking from the front.

    Tried it today and just for the record it's a right hand (conventional) thread, trust Land Rover to confuse things.

    I have had mine off a few times and using a permanent pen have marked direstion of undoing on the cyl head as i keep forgetting, dont do it up very tight at all as its like an oil filter and gets tighter on its own.

    Right. but the viscous pulley in this case runs the opposite way to the engine- hence the normal thread
