Smile dip switch 200tdi

the dip swich on our h reg 200tdi has been getting tempremental for a while and has finally packed up refusing to turn on the main beams. now the stalks look remarkably similar to my m reg ldv 400 garden shed, so ive whipped of the steering wheel, needed to get out the 3/4 socket set to find a socket big enough for the ldv steering column nut but the wheel then came off with a gentle tug, and removed the complete lights/ wipers switch assemble. took off the disco column shroud , the switch assembly is exactly the same, steering column nut is smaller, but the bloody steering wheel wont come off, theres a couple of m6 threaded holes in the boss so i guess we have to make a wee puller... time for a cup of tea... may as well have a look in the haynes book whilst drinking the tea... not really clear but it says something about unclipping the switches from the assembly... both stalk assemblies will unclip from the boss that fits arround the steering column... should have read the book first... 5 minutes and its all back together again .

the ldv digital clock also looks the same as the 200 disco one.

most of the parts on a 200 were left over parts from stuff like the montego and the ldv range.
but you are right you do need a puller to get the steering wheel of you can make one from a peice of flat bar a 13mm bolt and nuts just a little cutting and measuring and drilling but once you have made it you will have it for the next vehicle that comes along

On my 200 TDi all I have to do to remove the dip switch is to remove the column shroud and press in the release tabs on the switch. Disconnect the multi plug, and jobs a gudun.
