when I used to partake in the consumption of animals it was always the scotch egg. It reigned supreme.

Re: Scotch Eggs or Pork Pies ?
Well Scotch Eggs seem to be pretty well all the same to me, but Pork Pies vary like hell.
http://www.birdsbakery.com make the best Pork Pies in the world as far as I'm concerned, one of the very few things I miss about not living in Derby anymore
cheers, Tim

Re: Scotch Eggs or Pork Pies ?
Well I love Scotch Eggs but you can't beat a good Pork Pie and they can't be brought in a supermarket. They need to have a good crisp pastry, and a filling made with good quality pork with just the right amount of fat, perfectly seasoned with black pepper and a few other spices, with a very lightly seasoned jelly. (Nearest with to a pie I could find) I feel a cooking session coming on.
