Rude words!!!!!!
Very naughty words!!!!
Going to work this afternoon, just 5 minutes from home and the "nice" lady in front of me couldn't get her auto Omega into drive, so put it into PARK at 30 mph!!
No brake lights and the sudden realisation that the car in front of me isn't moving. Brake and BANG!!!
One written off Omega, and a Freelander now in need of bumper, bonnet, off side headlight and wing, and a query about the off side suspension leg.
And we were supposed to be off on holiday next weekend in the caravan.

Re: Rude words!!!!!!
Luckily no. Being a First Aider it was the first thing I checked, and will help if there is a future claim too.

Re: Rude words!!!!!!
So has she admitted liability, Graham. Usually the shunter is guilty.

Re: Rude words!!!!!!
Malc, if it doesn't then so be it.
I've got a guarenteed NCD and work on the principle that metal can be repaired but bodies can't, and since no-one was hurt, then the Insurance Co's can fight it out between themselves.
Now have a problem on how to get to work on Monday morning at 0430 when public transport doesn't exist. Think I might have to go sick!!

Re: Rude words!!!!!!
It has to be said. I am disgusted that not a single person has offered to take Graham to work tomorrow morning/in the middle of the night.
After all the brilliant advice he's given in his close to 2000 posts, I was sure that someone nearby would make the gesture.
I know that if I lived nearby I would gladly kick the wife out of bed to give him a lift.
David

Re: Rude words!!!!!!
I think that is between midnight and getting up time, so probably doesn't exist in my life.
0430 is snuggly buggly time.

Worth checking where Park is located on that car, ours it is at the front of the gearbox, question is though, what was she doing moving the lever while she was on the move? That's the whole point of an auto, move it to drive and then leave it there... till you stop again...

Graham. If I lived near you, I would gladly lend you my F/L until yours is fixed, which brings me back to the Wales forum.
On a more serious note, I am pleased to hear that you escaped injury.
You could ask the Police to have their vehicle examiner, examine her car as they would have done, had it been a fatal. I would say, her having stated she was having trouble with her gearbox is a fairly good admission of guilt, and at the least, driving without due care and attention, re remark, "Shunter usualy at fault" How old was she by the way?.

Re: Rude words!!!!!!
Thanks Davey, and Victor.
Feeling a bit stiff and buised today, and phoned in sick for tomorrow. No way do I feel up to puliing signal levers for 12 hours!
Police not involved as no-one injured. In fact they drove past as we were exchanging details. Not interested at all.
Oh, and in her 60's.

Graham. If you feeling stiff and bruised, it would be an Injury RTA, and just how typical of todays Police to just drive by!
Just bear in mind also Graham, although you may not know at present, you may in the next week find you have suffered whiplash. No doubt thinking of what colour nail varnish to get, or when to get her hair done, at the time

Re: Rude words!!!!!!
Feeling much better today, especially after a couple of pints yesterday lunch time and a lot of arnica!
Overnight the front wing now has a big split down it and the headlight is loose, so I suspect some of it's stresses are working their way out. Just had the Body Shop on the phone and they can't pick the car up until tomorrow, so I have got to borrow a car to get to work tomorrow. They've told me I'm getting either a Micra or Fiesta, so holiday now cancelled! They also said they are likely to have the car for 2 to 3 weeks!!
