Hi !
Have finished going through a major job on my recently acquired 96 Disco, 300TDi.
Replaced Timing belt, all leaking gaskets! oil-seals!! etc. I even sent the injectors to a special lab to have them serviced, however, now that the various spills seem to have been rectified, I still get billowy exhaust when my right foot is a wee bit too generous on the pedal! My mechanic has even closed the diesel inlet on the distribution pump. This has only reduced power, especially when Air-con is on....
Would be very grateful of any other ideas.
Is this inherent to the 300TDi ???
The other problem I have not solved is that although I have replaced the reverse switch at the gear-box, the reverse lamps still do not come on, but if I pull the gear-lever about 1/4 inch the light comes on. I suppose I will have to deal with this from the inside, removing console and trying to access from under the gear-lever, or not?? Heynes manual is not very clear on this.
Has anyone ever dealt with such a situation/
Tnx
alan
