Re: Morocco
I've been a few times and well worth doing. Do a search as there are loads of threads on Morocco. I've always gone either side of summer due to the heat.

Re: Morocco
After a bit of research it appears that the trips to Morocco are done either side of July. Because of our commitments we can only travel during the month of July so it looks like Morocco is off the agenda....
Can anyone suggest any other European 4x4 holidays that operate during July?

Re: Morocco
Considered doing your own? We expolored the Italian Lakes last year. Nothing extreme but some great out of the way mountain tracks etc..
Again, it was during the summer and very hot but once you get up into the mountains it soon cools down.
Saves a few hundred quid too.

Yeah would consider doing our own thing! We've done driving holidays in France and the USA and love the sense of adventure.
Where did you go in Italy? How long did you go for? Where would you recomend.
Cheers

Most of the time was spent between Lake Como (easy to pop up into the Swiss mountains for a cool down) and then Italian side of Mont Blanc where there are some great little campsites off the main roads. The return route was totally different from the route we took down and spent a short time on the Seinne and the Normandy beaches. Crammed it all into a fortnight. All we planned was the destination - everything else just happened!!

We went to Morocco with Impala last September. Absolutely superb but true, they only go in the Autumn which makes sense. North Africa in mid-summer would be oppresively hot.

Re: Morocco
Alpine Rovers run green laning trips to the Alps throughout July and August. I was talking to Mandy and Mike (who run the tours) at Sodbury today and they are knowledgable and friendly poeple.
Considering going myself actually.
